Night of the National Debut
I’m at the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood in Harlem getting ready to have a Recession-Buster Film Festival Night of Broadcast Watch Party with some of the diverse community members who helped us make this film. It’s been an amazing few months of introducing NEW MUSLIM COOL to folks around the country and world - we’ve all learned a lot, made new friends, and we can’t wait for what comes next!
Make sure to check your local listings at P.O.V.’s website to see for sure when the film will show on your local station and thank you for tuning in! We’ll have TONS more to announce right after the broadcast premiere.

Very cool, man. What you do seems very genuine and real. Anything that helps Pittsburgh become more diverse and helps our economically disadvantaged kids find direction is easy to get behind. Good luck to you.
I loved the documentary! I actually watched it at school and our school Oceana High School were one of the first to watch it. I even got to hear him speak which was wonderful(he is such a good charismatic speaker). It was an amazing movie that I enjoyed and it was wonderful. The movie showed the true islamic ways and the struggles of an everyday life and it showed how Hamza converted to Islam and how he lived the Muslim life. I think this documentary shows many aspects of the Islamic ways and I purely loved the documentary. Thanks to Hamza and the director as well as the family for filming the documentary.
I saw this last night on TPT here in Minneapolis and it touched me to my core. The film is deeply motivating it made me take a good hard look at what I THOUGHT I knew about Islam. What I left with is that I took a journey with a wonderful family that could have been mine, the next door neigbhors or my cousins and I fell in love them. If your ever in our neck of the woods come on over and “Grab a plate” cuz as it turns out we’re all family here on this planet. Thanks for the schoolin… lookin forward to the music and Blessings to you and yours.
Salaam,
The irony is I have had an M-Team Clash of Civilizations CD (still in its shrink wrap!) I got from an ISNA convention four years ago. I dug it out today after watching New Muslim Cool last night. Loved the movie and more power to your community work.
